"4:13 to Katowice" is an East Pictures production. The company believes in investing in young and apt filmmakers that bring freshness to the theatres. Executive production of the film was entrusted to FlyFilm, a production house specialised in 3D technology founded by the authors of the film: sreenwriter and director Andrzej Stopa (graduated from the Katowice Film School) and Piotr Kalkowski (DoP, stereographer). The filmmakers agreed that the film industry does not use the full dramaturgic possibilities of 3D and decided to realise their vision of a 3D movie.

- For some people 3D is just a technical curiosity but we understand it as a filmmaking tool, the full application of which has not yet been studied. The depth effect can be used as an element of expressing emotions of the characters. It can increase tension and build the mood of the film just as music does. - says the director. - I don't aim at adding "3D" to the title because it is trendy and profitable. I focus on testing the possibilities and restrictions of this still fresh and developing technology. Experimenting on a medium as established as the language of film is very exciting.

From the very beginning "4:13 to Katowice" will be presented in the Extreme 5D theatre chain. The Extreme cinemas offer 3D, surround sound and other mechanisms that influence the senses of the audience. A variety of effects pulls the audience into the action. During a car chase for example the audience will feel the wind on their faces, rain and the vibration of the speeding car.
